Need to rearrange homepage bottom, left, right

Ok...hopefully I ask this question correctly.

I would like for my homepage to look as much like the following example from the Church Theme showcase:

I tried to see how the divs work on the LifeSpring site by using Firebug but I still do not understand how to move them.

Also, it looks as though the sidebar was completely removed from the main page too, at some point, I may want to do that as well....is that easy to do?
