Thumbnails 70x70 FCG?

Okay I've scanned all the forums and this is the closest answer I've found to get the thumbnails to scale down to 70x70 from Brian:

"For what it's worth, if you upload your larger images through the WP image uploader, it automatically creates a thumbnail image, which you can change default size to match that of the theme you are using. This way when you upload a big image, you can just use the thumbnail image that WP creates, and just drop that url into the custom field location."

I set my WP2.7 to use 70x70 thumbnails but they don't show in the FCG. When I make a thumbnail in Photoshop it displays okay in the Featured Content Thumbnail section but then it uses that image for the main window. Am I missing something in brian's above description. When I paste the URL from the WP crunch it doesn't create the proper thumbnail. Do I need to add image attributes to the URL? Thanks in advance.
