Default How to Set Up Site

Just started using StudioPress Lifestyle template. Got it through page.ly which set up my domain, is hosting site, etc. I am a newbie to wordpress and saw your site which looks great. When I got the template, it had practically nothing on it that was showing in the demo. How did you get the large rotating photos to show up, the video, the ads, etc. Am I missing something. I thought these templates came pre-set with what it looked like on the StudioPress demo page. Any direction or ideas that you have would be truly appreciated.
