How do I change post background colour?

Hello again, so glad this forums here, nearly built my first site but I would like to have a change of colour to the posts. If you see my site you can see I made a change as a test. http://queuepolitely.com

What is the best way, or can you even do it, to chose colours independently on each page ?

Also why does the front page additional video details not change when I update the .postarea CSS style, is it somewhere else ?
