Help needed changing header logo

I have read the small blurb in the theme tutorials about changing "Lifestyle Theme" logo in the header. My logo is ready in PNG format. The instructions say to upload it in my theme's images folder. Can you tell me where to find that folder and what the exact proceedure is? Is it in the WP theme dashboard or is it in my site's Cpanel? Detailed step-by step instructions would be greatly appreciated since I've never done anything like this before.
