different formats for pages and posts?

Hi,

I'd like to keep my pages in the regular two-column format, but change my posts to a float where text starts at the right of the image and then floats underneath. Is this doable for someone with marginal skills? I've read up on how to do the float, but I'm not sure where I need to make the changes, especially so they apply only to posts and not pages. Any tips on how to get started would really be appreciated.
