How to remove star bullets from certain widgets?

Hi all,
My site is www.mylivingfit.com. I would like to use the WP Poll widget in my sidebar. When I create a poll, the answer choices all have that star bullet in front of it (like the one that shows up in Category list widget). How can I remove the bullets from that particular widget (and other select widgets)?

I also can't seem to get the text to center properly (note the poll title, vote button and "view results" are a little off to the right even though the WP Poll style sheet says they're centered), which I think is the result of some clashing between the widget and the lifestyle theme css that I can't seem to identify.
