Default Coding doesn't match up in tutorial/add sections

In my ongoing process of customizing my layout, I attempted for the second time to add categories to my homepage, following the tutorial.

I had written an earlier message asking for support with this same issue. Again, I get to step 4, "locate this code" . . . and there is not code that matches up to the theme code.

So I had to delete my changes and back out again.

I cannot find this code:

<?php $cat = get_category(get_theme_mod('featured_main')); ?>
<strong><a href="<?php echo get_category_link(get_theme_mod('featured_main')); ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php _e("More Posts From ", 'studiopress'); echo get_cat_name(get_theme_mod('featured_main')); ?></a></strong>

Now maybe I am supposed to find something SIMILAR, but I am a novice and so when someone directs me to find that exact code and replace it, all I know to do is find that exact code and replace it. I can't make a judgement that some other bit of code which is "close" is really doing the same thing - so it is fine for me to replace that code with the new code.

Please assist me. I want to add six additional stories to my page under the category of Arts & Entertainment.

I need help. I can't follow a tutorial if the tutorial does not match up to the code.

If I am doing something wrong, I apologize, but regardless, I need assistance to get my page customized.
