side nav ads and video

Apologies in advance if I am being thick!

But I have added the video code

and my adsense code into the lifestyle settings... and pressed save... and neither show in the side nav. I do have a blank area where something should be .. but, even allowing 30+ mins for ads to show ... nothing.

so any thoughts where the video and where the box ads are?
