Error Message: Broken Theme

I recently bought the Church theme. I downloaded Wordpress and I am using page.ly for server hosting. When uploading the church zip file into my new WP website, the file was "installed successfully". However, when I tried to "Activate" the theme, I got an error message saying, "The active theme is broken" and then, WP reverted to the default theme. How do I fix?
