Why does my FCG look different?

Why does my FCG look different?

I have a City theme. I have integrated some features of the Lifestyle theme and for some reason my FCG just doesn't look the same as others. I deactivated it and loaded the new version and then activated it again. I am sure I have something wrong since I am really struggling with this.

ETA - and why do you think it loads so slow? I have installed the FF yslow add-on and will be reading thru that - but it is all fairly over my head.
