Is it possible to create an additional homepage or a separate page based on the layout of the homepage for a theme like the Magazine or Newspaper theme?
I have one blog where I would like to set a simple about page as the default. From the simple about page, I want to direct visitors to a page modeled and configured on the homepage that comes with the magazine or newspaper theme where you have separate divisions for posts belonging to different categories. In other words, I want to set a simple site introduction or about page as the default, but provide a prominent link to a page based on the layout and content of the Magazine or Newspaper Studiopress themes. Is it possible to set the about page as the default homepage or index page then have another page based on the homepage of the Magazine theme? If this is possible, how woul accomplish this? Thanks for any help with this issue. Here is a site where I would like to try this. http://www.globalnewsblog.com/wp/ Right now the blog is set to use the Magazine theme Homepage and its layout as the default. I would like visitors first to arrive at an about page with a site introduction and guidelines and a prominent link to a page which looks exactly like the current homepage. Alan F. |
