Default Plugins

I normally would use Plugin Central to install a number of plugins at the one time and find it very handy. My question is if it would be any easier just to download the plugins you use from one domain and then upload them to another? I am thinking no, because they would need to be reconfigured anyway, would that be correct? Is it just as handy to upload and configure?

Warmest Regards,

Gordon
