Header and Favicon

I want to say I've been pleased with this theme so far! I am a novice and I'm surprised at how much I've been able to do with the help of the support forum. I am stumped by a couple of things that are pretty elementary so thanks in advance for your patience.

1. How do I change the header color from gray to black? I can't seem to find a reference in the header.php file.

2. I've created by own favicon.ico (renamed it "favicon.ico" and deleted the original favicon) and replace the Revolution favicon in the theme's image folder. I've cleared my cache and I'm still getting the "R" favicon. Any suggestions?
