Full Width Footer

My client needs to have a full width footer - i.e. it expands with the browser. For the mockup I just hacked it with a background image, but that won't work for the functioning site as the pages are different sizes depending on the content.

So, how can I create a full width footer as I have with the header? I'm assuming I can do this with CSS.
