tinyMCE plugin issue in WP 2.7

I am running Wordpress 2.7. with the Pro Business 1 theme. I installed the tinyMCE Advanced plugin. I set up the buttons in the setup menu and saved options. When I go over to my page editor none of those buttons appear. I've deactivated the Nextgen plugin. I have closed out and re-opened the browser, and refreshed the browser. Nothing seems to work. I would really like to run this plugin, but it is un-usable at this point. Is this a Wordpress 2.7 issue? Maybe I'm missing a critical step here? Please help. Thanks so much for all of your support!
