wordpress is worse than a snail - why is it sooo slow

My wordpress site from loggin in to dashboard is beyond slow. Second day only of trying to buid a site using Genesis and Child themes. Have uninstalled and reinstalled wordpress - uninstalled the child theme just in case - havent reinstalled yet cos its sooo slow.

As its so new it cant be anything Ive added?

Any ideas as to whats up?
