Featured category and thumbnail help!

I just got this theme and have not a clue of what I'm doing. I want to put a category in the featured category boxes and can't seem to find them in the style.css in the editorial page. I also want to change the title. Does it update automatically? Also, how do I change the thumbnails in the featured box? Help! This is all very new to me so please use details if possible.
