500 Internal Server Error

When I upload the church_40 folder to the themes folder and activate the theme I am getting a 500 Internal Server error. I can't even access /wp-admin/ . When I delete the theme using ftp I can then access /wp-admin/ to re-activate my old theme. Any idea to what I am missing? I did set the permissions on /tools/cache/ to 777. Anything else I missed?
