Header Size and Navigation Tabs

I changed the header size to 960 x 100 and there is a gap below the navigation bars. I think from reading other posts I need to change the padding in header right but I've tried changing that and it hasn't worked.

Header codes are:

.headerright {
width: 600px;
float: right;
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
}
