Text Widget won't accept HTML or auto line breaks

I can't get the text in my Text Widget to hold paragraph spacing. Please look at the top right widget on http://spiritworks.myexcellentsiteonline.net/

I tried pasting from a plain text file with HTML tags, but it had no effect.

There's a check box for "automatically add paragraphs," but it didn't work.
