Plugin Buddy + Page.ly = no go

Through various posts on these forums and your partnership with Page.ly, I chose both the backup buddy plugin and page.ly for hosting.

Has anyone used these two services (BUB and Page.ly) and been successful? I'd really like to use page.ly for a client . . .

BUT! I cannot use plugin buddy on the page.ly hosting - permission denied to either create a new directory or upload the BUB files (including the importbuddy.php) into the page.ly account via ftp.

And, I cannot fully delete the WP files in page.ly.

I have submitted tickets to page.ly - they recommended I hire one of their people for about $500 to help me.

That said, I did get the BUB files to work perfectly on a godaddy hosting account - something that the BUB people warn against. So, I'm not feeling like a total moron about this!

Since both are recommended, any feedback is welcome.
