Welcome to http://www.unemployedwoman.com. We are so excited to share our new journey with you. We are two unemployed women who have been friends for many years. Who would have thought we'd be unemployed at the same time? We were determined to turn this into a positive experience. After walking around the park we decided that blogging about our unemployment experience would be therapeutic to us and possibly helpful to other women going through similar experiences.
We didn't realize how much work is involved in finding a new job in today's economy. Who would have thought that resume styles become outdated? Who would have thought the best way to find a job is on-line job sites? Who would have thought that there were so many tricks involved to getting an interview?
This made us realize that we needed to utilize all the resources available to help us improve our job search. We started looking for any free classes that would make us more marketable. The job market is so different from 20 years ago. Job searching can be exhausting and we learned that you can't spend all your time doing it.
We then decided to investigate any free local events that would be informative or fun to keep us occupied in our down time. We have since attended many free workshops, lectures and fun events.
We hope to inspire you with our ideas and experiences. You are not alone. Please participate in our forum and view our calendar and blogs. Together we can get through these trying times. By sharing our resources from job tools to money savers we can make our time productive and enjoyable.
