Which audio player

On this site: http://www.gracelbc.net/ they have two really cool sections that we want to have on the website we're currently making using the Outreach theme. But it looks like they're using Podpress, and I keep reading that it's not updated often enough to be reliable.

Any suggestions for the best (and easiest to use) plug in that will give us a way to:

a. play audio files without leaving the home page
b. have "download audio files" open in a new window

In other words, how do we do what they did without using what they used?!
