Featured Posts; excerpts view into HTML view

I searched the forum and could not find a suitable solution.

I am curious if there is a way to change the 'featured posts' (that are shown on the home page) from being a simple 'excerpt' into showing full HTML; i.e.: bold, line breaks, images, etc?
