Default Anybody with experience with Super Cache or Hyper Cache

Since changing my site from movable type to WordPress, the server load has gone up quite a bit and the server is crashing about once a day.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to reduce the resources on the server and have seen many people using a cache plugin like super cache or hyper cache.

Does anybody have any experience with these working well?

Do they hurt SEO rankings at all?

Thanks!
