Using WordPress 3.0 Menus in Agent Theme

I'd like to see if I can use the WordPress 3.0 menu functionality in the Agent theme (non-Genesis). I have to insert a hyperlink to an external site right in the middle of the main navigation structure, so adding this in would be good.

As I understand it, I have to add some PHP code to the functions.php file, and then insert the call for the new menu that I've created in WP admin section into what it looks like the header.php file for this theme.

Any tips? Will I have to remove anything from functions.php? What code would I use to replace what is in header.php?
