File Permission Errors

Hello,
I recently upgraded my Web server from PHP4 to PHP5. However, after I did this, I can no longer make changes to the Executive style.css file within the Theme Editor. Instead of the option to save my changes to the style.css file, I get a message that says, “You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for more information”.

I read up on some articles and switched up the file permissions settings using FileZilla. I’ve tried 666, 664 and 777…all with no luck. I tried to use FileZilla to save the style.css file to my computer, edit it, and reupload. This also did not work. I somehow cannot upload the file back up to the server. Anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!
