Default Image Resizing - The Easy Way

To avoid having to crop images multiple times for the various image areas, make use of the built-in WordPress Media Settings.

Login to your admin area, on your sidebar find Settings/Media

Now set the thumbnail dimensions to appropriate size for your theme.

Choose either the Medium or Large setting and set this to your FCG size

When you configure your custom fields add the dimensions to the url of the image.

Images will now be scaled automatically.
