Converting existing WP site to Genesis

We have a mature WordPress site running on the old Cutline theme that does very well in search (p 1 for many terms). I want to convert to Genesis to make the site more professional, reorganize, add new content and functionality, etc.

I've set up a development site on which to work on the project.

I've reviewed the general discussions forum and found a couple topics that include tips for retaining search rankings (http://www.studiopress.com/support/s...ad.php?t=45972 and http://www.studiopress.com/support/s...ad.php?t=49468). Sounds like its critical that elements (url, titles, content) in new site are identical to the old.

What else must I pay attention to? I'd welcome any guidance to best approach this effort. Thanks.
