So far, I've only built new sites from scratch (well, I mean, using genesis and a child theme) or have migrated existing blogs from blogger to WordPress - and none of the people had their own hosting space already.
I now have the opportunity to redo a WP blog for someone who currently uses Chris Pearson's Cutline theme. I am unsure of how best to proceed. I am assuming I should do as follows: Set up a development version of the site on my own server, so that I can play around with it and show the client, etc. (and I guess it just won't have any of her content on it?) When it's ready, copy all of the relevant files, which I guess would include style.css, functions.php, and whatever else I've made changes to. Install genesis on her site. Install the child theme, with my versions of the relevant files. Is that correct? |
