Calendar Plugin Suggestions

We have a client who wants a small calendar to appear in their sidebar with numbers highlighted for events and individual posts for each event. "Events Calendar" is exactly what they want except it conflicts with using a Custom Menu. When you add an event, it throws the custom menu completely out.

Does anyone know a fix or a different plugin. They really want that sidebar calendar.
