SEO on a site with 2 WordPress instals

I have a client site that runs on Genesis and they would like a blog. From a few points of view I have taken the decision to add a 2nd WordPress instal to www.domain.com/blog. Does anyone know how this action will impact SEO for the main company website? (I plan to provide a feed from the blog onto the main site as well)
