Replace thumbnails with gravatars

I want to replace the thumbnails in home.php with gravatars. I understand the gravatar code and I've uploaded and activated the gravatar plugin. I'm not sure what code to replace. I believe it is the code below but I'm not sure.

Code:

				   	[img]<?php bloginfo('template_url'); ?>/images/thumbnail.png[/img]" />
