How to change website's directory?

I'm building my Genesis website on a live hosting account where I installed to the following directory: www.mywebsite.com/wordpress/

After I'm finished building my website, I want to move it to www.mywebsite.com/

What is the best way to do this? Can I simply drag-and-drop the contents of www.mywebsite.com/wordpress/ to www.mywebsite.com/ using FTP or is it more involved than that?
