Adding blank lines to posts

I'd like to be able to add blank lines to increase the separation between posts in the Corporate Theme site I'm building but Wordpress ignores
and I've reformatted the posts so that the comment, author and date information doesn't appear (the site isn't a blog). Is there a simple way around this?
