New Content Box on Home Page

Hi,

I'm trying to add a new content box to my homepage just above the bottom featured area. I found an example of another site which has done this using an amazon widget in the new content space: http://biggercatch.com/ (not my site)

I'm really not sure where to start so any help would be greatly appreciated.
