Default Best way to Change font size in text widget?

This is a really stupid question, but what is the best way to change the font size of text in a text widget using either CSS or HTML? I don't want to change the style sheet, just a specific part of the text in a widget. I was told using the <font size=""> attribute has been depreciated and may not render correctly in some browsers.
