Comments Creating Spam

I received the following message from a reader:

Once I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new feedback are added- checkbox and now every time a remark is added I get 4 emails with the same comment. Is there any means you possibly can remove me from that service?

Other people have asked the same question on the Codex, but no one had a solution. What can I do or tell this reader to do?
