Display image before video begins

Been having YouTube blues so decided to bail on having them host my videos.

Have my own .flv video added on sidebar (using Video Widget by nikohk) & it works fine - other than that I no longer get that nice "initial preview" image from the video.

It's a plain black screen. Ugh.

I need a static video image to "sit there" before the video begins, (like with YTb).

I'm checking thru the support site of the widget to see if there's a setting somewhere, but nothing so far.

Ideas?
