thumbnails on homepage - v1 news style

Is there any way to have the homepage thumbnail images link to the image that is inserted in the post similar to the way I am able to do with Rev 1's "News" template? The old way was very convenient being able to resize the image once in the edit post section and have it link to the homepage featured post intro automatically. We will be publishing multiple posts every day and the efficiency of the auto linking function was a huge time saver. Thanks!
