Excerpt Question

You know how you edit the archive.php to add that excerpt feature to where each blog post only displays the first 55 words ect?

Is there anyway I can get that to work on the main page? If you look at my blog, it displays the whole article. Also, is there anyway I can add ". . ." to the end of each excerpt automatically so readers know there is more to the article than just the excerpt?

Last, if I set up a page, how can I have it so the cforms plugin is displayed on it?
