Default Wordpress Download Monitor Comments

OK So I'm using wordpress download monitor, the default template, and at first I had a problem where if I used standard share buttons to facebook, twitter, etc.. then it would only link to the downloads homepage, not the specific download, I solved this by turning on permalinks, but now I want to add comments per download, the page itself is setup to be /download/id but that only changes the link of the download button, not the page, so the page is displayed as /downloads?did=2 , because this isn't it's own page/post if I use comments, then all downloads share the comments, to explain... if I go to a download page and comment on that download like a review, then i go to another download, or the main downloads page then the comment is still there because it is all the same pace which is 'downloads'.

Is there any way to have individual comments for each ?did=*number* or to change the links so that each download page has it's own url, like /downloads/57 as the page url, not the files url.

I tried to look through the WP download monitor functions and help, and I also looked for comment plugins that would allow individual comments for those kinds of links, even a filter kind of plugin would suffice so that comments posted on a specific 'download id page' would show only on that download id page.

A ratings function would also be cool, but I don't think there is a need for ratings if there can be comments/reviews per download.

I would use the shortcodes to create my own posts/pages per download, even though it would take much longer but I don't know how to get the default layout as the downloads homepage, or to display the individual downloads in the same way either.

I have also looked through the code but doesn't help and I'm a n00b to PHP.

So to verify all I am using is code called [download_page] to display the download homepage.

I've disabled comments for now.
