Non-techie here.
I'm in the process of transferring my new site from a subdirectory to my public_html root via the backupbuddy plugin. I'm on Hostgator. It requires the root to be free of any Wordpress installation, so right now I'm deleting the existing WP files. Most of them are obvious. But I don't know whether it's safe to delete the .htaccess file. I understand that it has something to do with Apache (whatever that is). Should I leave that file in place? Thanks. |
