What do I need?

Abt. two years ago someone created a Wordpress Corporate blog for me. It's not a child nor does it have Genesis. I'm now wondering what I need to get, the framework only or do I need to get the Corporate with the Genesis?

I would think only the framework, but then I don't want to find out the hard way that if I did that I should have gotten the other instead.

As you can tell, I'm learning the ropes of WP...
