Help with a donation page for a non-profit organization

I am working on a website for a non-profit organization in Prose. The client doesn't like PayPal, so they signed up with a credit card gateway that will also provide them with a virtual terminal as well as online payment capacity.For now, the client only wants to have a page for online donations, they're not selling anything per se.

I need to create a donation page that will connect with the gateway. It requires hidden fields, with the total in a specific format.

I contacted Gravity Forms, and they only support PayPal and if I wanted to connect to another credit card gateway I'd have to heavily customize their plugin.

An inelegant solution is to create the donation page in straight html and connect with the gateway that way. I don't love that solution, but it would get the job done, I think.

Is there a better way to do this and keep it all in WordPress? Do I need a shopping cart plugin? What do you suggest?
