Default Proper approach on page styling.

Hi,

I can see some folks with an issue of styling each different page.
And, I've looked at tutorial using body classes but I am not quite convinced yet.

I build websites and there will be clients who will look after the website once built.
Not many of them have technical knowledges on running a website.
That's why I am using Wordpress and Genesis with a hope that will make both parties'
lives much easier.

Now I need to know if my approaches are in a proper manner.
What I am doing at the moment is styling each page using body classes
and input text or image contents in page editing menu in Wordpress admin panel.

When I insert contents in page editing menu, I use html editor instead
so that I can grant ids and classes which then call for their own styles.
I find it quite messy using html editor in admin panel as it automatically
generates some unnecessary tags.

And if I create php template just like what's done with Crystal theme in portfolio page,
my clients wouldn't have a clue where to go to tweak things around.
I guess template is only made for pages with specific purposes.

What I want to accomplish is having all the styles set at the back door
and let clients easily edit and update website content only with entering the front door.
Just like how things are done in company letterhead template where logos
and other details are in places so that anyone can produce the corporate letter
without any hassle.

What could be the proper approach on styling each page?
Does every developer go through page editing menu to insert contents?

I have good knowledges on html, css and little bit of php
but quite new to Wordpress and of course to Genesis.

I look forward to solid answers. Thank you
