Default Exporting a blog from one site to another

So if I have a blog site and the home page on that site is a Blog format (when you go to the website it dumps you write into the blog off the main root page). That particular site was done with Thesis theme.

If I take that blog and export it and re-import it into a website that is on the Lifestyle theme and want it to fall into its blog there (overriding the empty blog there) and its NOT right on the home page but underneath the root directory. What happens then? Does the blog from the old site sit in a blog table and that table will then just go into the blog table in Lifestyle and end up in the correct spot when I re-import it in.

Will be doing backups everywhere before trying this.

Thanks!
