I'm not sure where the glitch I'm about to describe lies, but I get the sense that it may have something to do with the Include/Exclude in the Genesis Featured Widget Amplified (being used in place of Genesis Featured Posts).
It took a little while for me to figure out what was happening, but now that I have, I can duplicate it. I added a new page and a new post, to play a little more with configuring the front page. I put the page in Home Middle #2, using Genesis Featured Widget Amplified, to Include that single post. Of course, since I had that post in Home Middle #2, I didn't want it to be included in the posts to be listed in Home Bottom #1. I configured a second instance of Genesis Featured Widget Amplified to display all posts from all categories, but to exclude that particular post (post ID 24, for this case). Once that second widget was configured to Exclude, the rest of the home page disappeared... no Home Bottom #2, and none of the Footer. The slider even stopped working. I ran into something else weird with the widget... as a workaround for the above problem, I created a second category, put the new article in that category, but the Exclude still didn't work. In fact, the widget no longer let me select "All Categories", but defaulted back to "All Taxonomies and Tags". I could only select that, or a specific single category. With "All Taxonomies and Tags" selected, and the Exclude on, the rest of the page broke. When I changed it to the single category with the Exclude on, the rest of the page works, but the post I want excluded isn't excluded. At first, I thought there might have been a glitch with the Random Quotes widget, but removing that didn't mitigate the "broken" state. I've currently left it in the "broken" state so someone else can poke around... the article not excluded from Home Bottom #1, the rest of the page (Bottom #2 and all the Footers) not displaying, and the slider not sliding. I don't see it as a selection in the Plugins Support area, and since this isn't a specific issue with Associate, I'm not sure where else to post questions about it. |
