Integrating Wordpress + Genesis Onto ASP Site

Hi,
I'd like to know if it's possible to add wordpress + genesis onto an existing ASP site that contains ASP + HTML pages. I have a client who needs to retain their ASP functionality on the same domain as a wordpress + genesis site.

1) How would I install wordpress without damaging the asp installation - I've heard that I would need to install wordpress to a subfolder.

2) Is this type of implementation recommended from a reliability perspective or is there an alternate preferred installation?
